Experimental bus route „Bolderāja - Ziepniekkalns” to open in Riga for three months

The Commission for Licensing Commercial Passenger Transportation Service of Riga City Council has decided to replace increased comfort bus route No. 247 „Bolderāja- Ziepniekkalns” with an experimental bus route „Bolderāja – Ziepniekkalns” for a period of three months.

Commission Chairman Vadims Faļkovs explains that residents complained of being unable to use the fare discounts granted by Riga City Council on this route, which was served by minibuses only. Therefore, it was decided that an experimental route served by „Rīgas satiksme” buses will be opened for a three-month period.

It is scheduled that new bus route No. 56 will be launched on January 27.  But in February, several new bus stops will be open on the experimental route – near Turība railway station, as well as in Āgenskalna Street and Dreiliņu Street.

On Friday, the commission also decided to open and close bus stops on several routes:    on bus route No. 13 „Babīte railway station – Kleisti – Preču-2” and on route No.  50 „Abrenes Street – TEC” bus stop „Matīsa Street” will be opened in Avotu Street, whereas bus stop „Bruņinieku Street” will  be closed in Bruņinieku Street. On route No. 13 „ Babīte railway station – Kleisti – Preču-2” bus stop „Warehouse” will be opened in Lubānas Street and  bus stop „Vegetable warehouse” will be closed in direction of Babīte railway station.

The commission also decided to change holiday schedules of bus route No.8 „Railway Terminal Square – Zolitūde” and bus route No. 44 „Ziepniekkalns – Zolitūde”, without changing the number of runs on these routes.
